Vision-13 - Final project at BTK Berlin Technische Kunsthochschule in Communication Design.
Vision-13 is not a new world, but a new movement in the embodiment of a conceptual utopia. It is a speculative concept that proposes a solution to a fast-paced world.
It is a possibility where digital avatars eventually replace our presence in the digital realms of the consumerist society. A human influencers job is to become a brand ambassador and market to his followers online. It is arguably not a humane job and challenges what it means to be a human. Perhaps the response to the world of people being marketed and branded would be to let the avatars take over our online personas entirely. Just let the avatars market and advertise to one another in a fictional world so that the humans can finally be free from the need to be online. Then humans could go back to natural jobs and focus on creative innovation and get back in touch with one another.
My final project is a series of three posters that serve as an advertisement for “Vision-13”, a planet where you can migrate to, which draws its inspiration from Philip K. Dick’s “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep”. Once you migrate, you select a “Well-being” which is an avatar that you customize to your liking. This avatar will then take care of your social media accounts and post on your behalf, leaving you free to return to a more authentic human life, facilitated by the hubs at Vision-13.
“When you have the freedom to become anything you want, what will you become, and how will it affect you?”
